Who Is Eligible to Apply?
Before filling out form, make sure you meet following mandatory criteria set by NVS :
- Age Limit: Candidate must be born between May 1, 2012, and July 31, 2014 (both dates inclusive). This applies equally to all categories.
- Current Academic Status: Student must be studying in Class 8 during the session 2026–27 in a government or government-recognized school in the same district.
- District Requirement: Candidates can only apply to the Navodaya Vidyalaya located in the district where they currently reside and study Class 8.
- Urban/Rural Status: If a student has attended a school located in an urban area for even a single day during Class 8, they will be considered an urban candidate.
JNV Class 9 Exam Pattern & Subject-Wise Marks
Written exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) carrying 100 total marks. Mathematics and General Science hold the highest weightage in the exam.
