- Financial Support: Selected students receive ₹12,000 per year (which translates to ₹1,000 per month).
- Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT): The scholarship amount is directly transferred to the student’s bank account.
- Duration: Once selected in Class 9, the scholarship continues every year through Class 10, 11, and 12, provided the student maintains eligibility.
- Total Beneficiaries: Every year, 1,00,000 fresh scholarships are awarded across the country.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the NMMSS 2026 scholarship, candidates must fulfill the following conditions:
- School Type: The student must be studying in a State Government, Government-aided, or Local Body school. (Note: Students studying in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodayas, or private residential schools are not eligible).
- Family Income: The total annual family income of the parents must not exceed ₹3.50 Lakh.
- Academic Performance: The student must have secured at least 55% marks in Class 7/8 examinations (a 5% relaxation is provided for SC/ST students) and must clear the State-Level Selection Test.
